SAN DIEGO, May 20 (UPI) -- At least three crew members were killed when their U.S. Navy helicopter crashed into the Pacific Ocean during a training flight off the coast of San Diego.

The Navy said the bodies of three of the five people aboard the HH-60 copter were recovered early Wednesday about 13 miles southwest of San Diego, and the search was continuing for two missing sailors.

Surface vessels and a Coast Guard helicopter were also involved in the search, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

A Navy spokeswoman told the newspaper the helicopter was reported missing Tuesday night by the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, which was operating in the area.
