Police told the Arizona Republic the crash culminated a high-speed chase that began when officers were called to a home around 2 a.m. MDT where four intruders wearing body armor and toting assault rifles had allegedly robbed the couple that lived there.

The robbers and a fifth member of the gang fled in two separate cars. One vehicle was stopped by police but the other car continued fleeing until it crashed.
