EULESS, Texas, May 18 (UPI) -- A Euless, Texas, woman allegedly shot her husband in the head and left his body in the garage for at least a day before telling anyone, police said.
Patricia Jeffress, 51, was arrested Friday. Police said she was held on suspicion of murder, with no bail set, after she walked into the office of the apartment complex where she lived and told employees her 59-year-old husband was dead, the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram reported Monday.
"She went back and was outside her apartment when the cops arrived. They went inside, and, sure enough, the husband was deceased," Euless police Lt. John Williams said.
The handgun that killed the man with a single shot to the head was found in the couple's apartment and not in the garage, Williams said.
Police released no motive for the shooting and found no previous reports of domestic disturbances at the address. The man's identity was not released.
