KOREAN PRESIDENT ROH MOO-HYUN VISITS SEATTLE

SEOUL, May 10 (UPI) -- A confidante of former South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun has been indicted on bribery charges, prosecutors said Sunday.

Jung Sang-moon, who once served as Roh's secretary for administrative affairs, was indicted on charges he accepted $320,000 in bribes from a jailed industrialist as rumors swirled that prosecutors were close to issuing an arrest warrant for Roh himself, the South Korean news agency Yonhap reported.

The Supreme Prosecutors' Office has also said it will soon summon Roh's wife, Kwon Yang-sook, to quiz her about a $1 million payment she had received from the industrialist, Park Yeon-cha, through Jung in 2007, Yonhap said.

Prosecutors have reportedly said they will question Kwon on why she has insisted that she, and not her husband, was the real recipient of most of Park's payment.
