Obama delivers stand-up routine

WASHINGTON, May 10 (UPI) -- President Barack Obama made his comedic debut before an estimated 2,500 attendees at the annual White House Correspondent's Association dinner.

Obama zinged Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton Saturday night saying: "The minute she got back from Mexico, she pulled me into a hug and said I should go down there myself."

"This is a tough holiday for Rahm, he said of Chief of Staff Rahm Emanual. "He's not used to saying the word 'day' after 'mother.'"

Obama targeted himself as well as the extensive media coverage of his first 100 days in office.

"My next 100 days will be so successful, I will complete them in 72 days," he said. "And on the 73rd day, I will rest."

The guest list included Hollywood luminaries Glenn Close, Robert De Niro, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg with comic Wanda Sykes as ringleader of the festivities, The Washington Post reported Sunday.

"It's funny to me that (photographers) have never caught you smoking," Sykes told Obama, "but they always catch you with your shirt off. I know you're into this transparency thing, but I don't need to see your nipples."
