MOSCOW, May 10 (UPI) -- An explosion at a gas pipeline in Moscow Sunday injured five people and shut down telephone service to tens of thousands of residents, an official said.

At least 30 cars were damaged and telephone and Internet cable destroyed by the blast, which may have been caused deliberately, Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov told RIA Novosti.
