CHICAGO, May 6 (UPI) -- The defense team for disgraced former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was given at least 1 million pages of documents set to be used as evidence, lawyers say.
Lawyers in the case said along with the documents, prosecutors have given Blagojevich's attorneys 400 hours of recorded telephone calls set to be used in the ousted governor's corruption case, the Chicago Sun-Times said Wednesday.
The lawyers added an additional 300 boxes of documents and at least 500 more recorded calls related to the case were not deemed pertinent.
Blagojevich was removed from office Jan. 29 following a unanimous vote by the Illinois Senate. The vote came after the Illinois House of Representatives voted to impeach him on corruption allegations.
The Sun-Times said the evidence given to the former governor's legal team included documents related to other individuals tied to the corruption case including John Harris, Chris Kelly, Stuart Levine and Lon Monk.
