CHARLESTON, S.C., May 5 (UPI) -- A 14-year veteran of the U.S. Army and Navy has been sentenced to two years for theft and bomb threats at Lajes Field, Azores, prosecutors said.

Arthur Miller is to serve his time in confinement at the Air Force facility in Charleston, S.C., Stars and Stripes reported Tuesday.

Miller, who was a staff sergeant with the 65th Logistics Readiness Squadron, was convicted earlier this month of stealing $150 from a snack fund and making several bomb threats in 2007, said Capt. Keira Poellet, a prosecutor.

Miller was motivated, in part, by revenge against a supervisor who Miller believed had been bullying him, Poellet said.

At his sentencing, Miller also was reduced in rank to airman and given a bad-conduct discharge, Poellet said.
