CAIRO, May 4 (UPI) -- An Egyptian court Monday rejected an appeal by six defendants charged with being terrorists, officials said.

Nassar Jibril, Mohammad Ramadhan, Nedhal Fathi, Hassan Manakhili, Mohammad Qutb and Mohammad Saad appealed to the Cairo Criminal Court for their release, but were denied, the Kuwai news agency reported.

The six men are among 49 others accused of attempting to carry out terrorist acts inside the kingdom. They are accused of making contacts with the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, KUNA said.
