LONDON, May 2 (UPI) -- A man visiting an inmate in London's Wandsworth Prison was killed Friday in the parking lot in a shooting police called a "professional hit."
The gunfire sent other visitors, many of them women and children, scurrying for safety, The Sun reported.
Witnesses said there were two killers, both wearing motorcycle helmets and suits. They got away on a motorcycle.
The victim was described as a 20-year-old man.
"It was a professional hit in broad daylight at a venue bristling with security," a police source told The Sun. "These killers clearly knew he'd be coming."
A woman said she spotted the gunmen before the shooting.
"I saw two men right outside the entrance. They wore helmets with the visors pulled down, and both wore white shirts and dark jackets," she said. "I thought they were cash van security guards. I walked in a shop then heard bangs."
Wandsworth in South London houses more than 1,600 inmates.
