WASHINGTON, April 29 (UPI) -- Report cards, pronouncements and verdicts are being issued by advocacy groups and politicians noting U.S. President Barack Obama's first 100 days in office.
Representatives of Jewish Democrats, Latinos, religious progressives and libertarians are among observers with 100-day fever, Politico reported Wednesday.
A university in Tennessee is sponsoring a parade Thursday to celebrate the unofficial benchmark.
Comments were mixed on Obama's first 100 days.
"In less than three and a half months, the Obama administration has already made marked progress with progressive policies that are important to our community: the economy, Israel, the Middle East, reproductive rights, renewable energy, and stem cell research," said Marc Stanley, chairman of the National Jewish Democratic Council, Politico reported.
Some lawmakers are issuing "report cards" on Obama's short tenure in the White House.
"The president's first 100 days can be summed up in three words: spending, taxing, and borrowing," House Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio said Tuesday.
Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., gave Obama 10 A's or B's, and an equal number of C's D's, with one incomplete.
Explaining the incomplete, Feingold said, "It is too soon to tell whether this administration will treat congressional oversight with respect or disdain."
Experts and advocates also weighed in on Obama's performance in areas of foreign policy, security and human rights, with evaluations ranging from A to F, Politico said.
