THE DUKE OF YORK IN ST. LOUIS

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, April 24 (UPI) -- British Prince Andrew made a ceremonial military visit to Canadian infantry reservists in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Andrew, 49, is the honorary colonel-in-chief of the Princess Louise Fusiliers, a regiment that was formed in 1749. With the troops in full-dress scarlet tunics, the prince reviewed them and chatted with several members in the evening parade at Citadel Hill, The Chronicle-Herald newspaper reported.

The report said dozens of civilians were on hand to witness Queen Elizabeth's second-youngest of four children in the "trooping of the color" ceremony at the old fort.

Andrew is a Royal Navy veteran with combat experience in the Falklands War with Argentina in 1982, and now walks with a slight limp, the newspaper said.

Some members of the Fusiliers are in training for duty in the NATO combat mission in Afghanistan. One member, Master Cpl. Christopher Stannix, was killed along with five other Canadians in April 2007 by a roadside bomb, the report said.
