BELLEVUE, Neb., April 22 (UPI) -- A Nebraska man who was arrested for lying down in the street to block an anti-abortion sign truck from rolling past his house says he'd do it again.

Larry Spurgeon of Bellevue, Neb., was arrested for refusing an order to get out of the street in front of his house after he lay down on the thoroughfare, KETV, Omaha, Neb., reported Wednesday.

Spurgeon said he did it because he was tired of seeing a sign truck bearing graphic images of aborted fetuses driving around his neighborhood, and objected to children having to see the sign. The anti-abortion group Rescue the Heartland told the station it picked Spurgeon's street for the truck because a nurse who assists with abortions lives in the neighborhood.

"Free speech is one thing, but it becomes harassment after 23 times and we're keeping our kids in the house," said Spurgeon's wife, Karen.

Saying he'd lay down in protest again, Spurgeon told KETV, "We understand they think they're on a mission. We understand that. Now leave, that's all."
