OAKLAND PARK, Fla., April 17 (UPI) -- A small airplane crashed into a home in Oakland Park, Fla., Friday, causing the home to burst into flames, authorities say.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen confirmed one person was on board the downed twin-engine Cessna 421-B, but details regarding the individual's condition were not available, Miami's WPLG-TV said.

The house fire has been extinguished, but authorities are still unsure whether anyone was inside the damaged home during the crash.

Oakland Park resident Vinita Jones said one of her neighbor's witnessed the morning crash.

"It was a blue and white, small plane. He said it flipped and went sideways and did a roll, and he thought to himself, 'My god, that plane's going to go down,' and then he saw smoke or fire," Jones told WPLG.

The crash is being investigated by FAA and National Transportation Safety Board officials.

The Miami Herald said an unidentified woman called a TV station alleging her husband had been flying the Sebring Air Charter, Inc. airplane to Jacksonville, Fla., to be sold.
