LONDON, April 17 (UPI) -- A London court has found the leader of the Tamil Tigers in Britain guilty of coordinating the supply of bomb-making materials to the Sri Lankan militant group.
The Kingston Crown Court jury found Arunachalam Chrishanthakumar, 52, a London property valuer originally from Sri Lanka, guilty of supplying electrical components to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam that had "an obvious terrorist purpose," The Times of London reported Friday.
Chrishanthakumar was also convicted of receiving documents for the purpose of terrorism after authorities found manuals titled "Underwater Warfare Systems," "Explosive Ordnance Disposal" and "Naval Weapon Systems" in his possession.
The jury failed to reach verdicts on charges of receiving military equipment, receiving money and belonging to a proscribed organization. The Crown Prosecution Service is expected to decide next week whether to hold a retrial for the unresolved charges.
