Mother said Josh Powell threatened her
BOULDER, Colo., April 16 (UPI) -- A 20-year-old woman being detained on animal cruelty charges in Boulder County, Colo., was found in possession of heroin, police say.
Officers said while being booked into the Boulder County Jail Tuesday, Abby Toll was found to have an unspecified amount of heroin in her possession, The Boulder (Colo.) Daily Camera reported Wednesday.
The University of Colorado student had been arrested on a felony animal cruelty charge for allegedly taping a dog belonging to her boyfriend, Bryan Beck, to the side of his refrigerator.
Toll was freed from jail on a $12,500 bond Wednesday and was scheduled to be formally charged Thursday. In addition to the animal cruelty charge, she faced charges of introducing a controlled substance, domestic violence, third-degree assault, tampering and sale and distribution of a controlled substance.
Beck, 21, pleaded innocent to charges of domestic violence, false imprisonment and obstruction of a telephone from the couple's recent fight at Toll's apartment. He is free on a $1,500 bond, the Daily Camera said.
