N.Y. boy, 9, dies in wrestling homage

NEW YORK, April 16 (UPI) -- A 9-year-old boy jumped to his death from a 13-story New York building wearing a makeshift parachute and imitating his favorite wrestler, family friends said.

The child, Domori Miles, was such a fan of World Wrestling Entertainment star Jeff Hardy and his "Swanton Bomb" move that he is thought to have been trying a similar dive from the roof of the building, family friends said in a New York Post report Thursday.

"Jeff Hardy does a kind of swan dive," said Sumore Murell, whose son was Domori's best friend.

"Domori thought it was really cool. He thought he could fly."

Murell said Domori had a learning disability and was on multiple sclerosis medication.

Murell's son, Shakur, said Domori was trying to mimic Hardy's move when the boy plunged from the building Tuesday.

"He tried to do a dive like Jeff Hardy," the 10-year-old said.

The Hardy dive is shown in the PlayStation2 game "Smackdown vs. Raw."

"That was his favorite game. He played it all the time. That's what he was trying to do," Shakur said.
