TAMPA, Fla., April 15 (UPI) -- A Florida man was in jail Wednesday after police said he caused five accidents that took two lives in an alleged drunken-driving spree.

A judge Tuesday revoked bail for Randy Archiquette, 39, after Hillsborough County prosecutors filed a motion blocking his release on the grounds he was a menace to the community, The Tampa (Fla.) Tribune reported Wednesday.

Archiquette was arrested Monday night after a vehicle he was in rolled over at the end of a 30-minute chase that left two women dead in separate collisions. He was allegedly found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.147 percent when he was arrested, police said.

While police Wednesday sorted out the chaotic time line, neighbors said Archiquette's alleged action came as a surprise.

One woman told the Tribune that she had never seen any signs that he had a drinking problem and added that she would know since she belonged to Alcoholics Anonymous and would likely have recognized signs of trouble. She added that Archiquette even used to drive her to her meetings.
