Utah bones likely those of missing woman

MOAB, Utah, April 14 (UPI) -- Bones found in the Book Cliffs near Moab, Utah, are almost certainly those of a Colorado woman who failed to return from a 2003 camping trip, police said.

Scott Lee Kimball, who is suspected of killing Leann Emry and three other people, led investigators to the bones, The Denver Post reported. Kimball, serving a long prison term for theft, denies killing Emry or anyone else.

The bones were discovered in mid-March. Kimball reportedly said that another missing woman's remains were in the area, but the bones of Jennifer Marcum, a dancer at a strip club in Glendale, Colo., were not found.

Jim Nyland, sheriff of Grand County in Utah, said Monday that DNA testing by the FBI had found a 99 percent probability that the remains were those of Emry.

Howard Emry of Centennial, Colo., said he was relieved to know what had happened to his daughter and glad that a suspect is behind bars.

Kimball, 48, is also suspected of killing his uncle, Terry Kimball, and Kaysi McLeod, 19, his ex-wife's daughter. McLeod's bones were found in Colorado in 2007.
