Spain: Government shuffles Cabinet

MADRID, April 7 (UPI) -- Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez has reshuffled his Cabinet amid an increasing financial crisis and a bolstered political opposition.

Finance Minister Pedro Solbes, who also acts as Spain's deputy prime minister, was ousted, El Pais reported Wednesday.

The removal of Solbes followed the recent announcement that Spain's unemployment rate has reached 14 percent.

"The fight against the economic crisis is our highest priority and it's in a decisive phase," said Zapatero Tuesday following the Cabinet shake-up, CNN reported.
