LAGOS, Portugal, April 4 (UPI) -- Gerry McCann is back in Portugal, looking for any clues about his daughter Madeleine's disappearance there in 2007, a spokesman for the British family says.

McCann family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said Gerry McCann arrived in the Portuguese resort village of Praia da Luz Saturday, seeking a "vital clue" that may help him learn what happened to his then 3-year-old daughter, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Madeleine McCann went vanished May 3, 2007, while her family was staying at a Praia da Luz resort. Though a major search effort ensued, the child was never located.

Gerry McCann will work with a British film crew to recreate the night of his daughter's disappearance for an upcoming Channel 4 documentary.

Mitchell told the Telegraph the filming, which will involve actors re-enacting a McCann dinner party the night of the suspected abduction, will reveal new aspects of the case to the public.

"There are new aspects of that night that have not yet been made public and hopefully they will generate new information that could offer the vital clue," Mitchell said.
