SRINAGAR, India, April 3 (UPI) -- Gunbattles between militants and army forces killed six people, including a civilian, in the Indian region of Kashmir, police said Friday.
A police spokesman five of the dead were militants, and that three of them were part of the Lashkar-e-Taiba group that was blamed for September's deadly Mumbai attacks, Pakistan's English-language newspaper, Dawn, said.

The militant group has denied having any involvement in the attacks that claimed the lives of 165 people.
