Police: Mother planned daughter's assault

UNIONTOWN, Pa., April 2 (UPI) -- A 32-year-old woman in Fayette County, Pa., allegedly drugged her 13-year-old daughter so she could be impregnated, police say.

Police said Shana K. Brown of Uniontown, Pa., had her boyfriend, Duane Calloway, attempt to impregnate the young girl, whose identity was not reported, as part of Brown's attempt to have children, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Thursday.

Brown allegedly put alcohol and sleeping pills in the girl's soda and tea so the teen lost consciousness, police said in criminal complaints.

Police said Brown, who is not in police custody, allegedly orchestrated the assault because she is unable to have children on her own.

If apprehended, Brown would face charges ranging from unauthorized administration of an intoxicant to endangering the welfare of children.

Calloway faces various charges in the criminal matter, including attempted rape and attempted sexual assault, police told the Tribune-Review.
