LOS ANGELES, March 31 (UPI) -- Los Angeles police are looking for a badly damaged car involved in a hit-and-run that killed one University of Southern California student and injured another.
Adrianna Bachan, 18, died and Marcus Garfinkle, 19, was critically injured when a car ran a red light near the campus, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.
Police were looking for a black sedan -- possibly a Lexus, a Honda Accord or a Toyota Corolla -- with a cracked windshield and a badly damaged front end, said Deputy Chief Kirk Albanese.
"We need to find the vehicle," Albanese said. "We need to find it quickly."
Struck Sunday at about 3 a.m., Bachan was thrown into the air while Garfinkle was carried about 500 feet on the car's windshield before the driver stopped and a passenger dragged Garfinkle off the car, witnesses told police, noting the car then sped away from the intersection of Jefferson and Hoover.
