FILLMORE, Utah, March 30 (UPI) -- Travelers in U.S. states like Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming are facing risky road and air travel as the result of heavy snowfall, experts said Monday.
AccuWeather.com said residents in parts of North and South Dakota, along with southern Montana and northern Wyoming, will face near-impossible travel conditions as the result of strong winds and heavy snowfall.
Experts predict the inclement weather will also result in canceled flights and even the shutdown of certain regional airports.
Major interstates will also face significant delays as a result of the winter storm crossing the northern Plains region Monday, AccuWeather.com said.
The Salt Lake Tribune said icy conditions on Interstate 15 appear to have caused a collision between a tractor trailer and a bus early Monday morning near Fillmore, Utah.
The Utah Highway Patrol said the collision, which involved a bus carrying a youth choir group, occurred when the truck driver lost control on icy roads and overturned.
No one was killed in the ensuing crash, but the truck driver and several passengers on board the bus were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
