Yemen hands 5 terror suspects to Saudis

SANAA, Yemen, March 29 (UPI) -- Five Saudi nationals wanted on terrorism and sabotage charges have been returned to Saudi Arabia by Yemen, officials said Sunday.

The Yemeni Ministry of Defense said one of the five suspects it delivered to Saudi authorities on March 17 was an alleged top leader of the al-Qaida terrorist group, Mohammad Atiq Owaid Harbi, the Kuwait news agency KUNA reported Sunday.

Harbi was reportedly on a list of 85 suspected terrorists wanted in Riyadh.

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh told the Al-Hayat newspaper Saturday that anti-terror cooperation between Yemen and Saudi Arabia was "excellent," KUNA reported.
