LONDON, March 27 (UPI) -- Scotland Yard is monitoring social networking sites to learn what demonstrators are planning for next week's G20 summit in London.
Protesters have already posted a detailed map on the Internet showing the locations of big law firms, energy companies and banks in the city, The Daily Telegraph reported Friday.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson says the prospect of thousands of protesters is a challenge for his force but adds they are up to the job.
All police leave in London has been canceled and thousands of officers have been brought in from other communities to prepare for what is expected to be an unprecedented level of protests.
Activists have dubbed April 1 as Financial Fools Day and are planning to march on the Bank of England, the European Climate Exchange and the U.S. embassy.
The G20 summit will be U.S. President Barack Obama's first visit to Britain since being elected.
