KHARTOUM, Sudan, March 22 (UPI) -- A top international prosecutor blasted indicted Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir for expelling aid workers from Darfur.
Luis Moreno-Ocampo, chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, told the British Broadcasting Corp. Saturday the expulsions were in effect another attack on Darfur's refugees and further evidence that Bashir was out to exterminate them.
Moreno-Ocampo called for Bashir to be arrested as soon as he leaves Sudan. Bashir has been invited to the Arab League summit in Qatar, which is not a signatory to the agreement that formed the international court.
The court issued an arrest warrant for Bashir this month on war crimes charges stemming from his government's actions in Darfur.
