Poll: Almost half in U.S. creationist
ATHENS, Greece, March 20 (UPI) -- The bomb that exploded outside the Hellenic Public Real Estate Corporation building in the Greek capital of Athens was remote-controlled, experts said Friday.
Police explosives experts said the bomb used in Thursday's attack opposite the Supreme Court had been detonated remotely by individuals who likely could see the bombing site, the Athens News Agency said.
Investigators suspect the bombers used this line of sight to ensure no one would be hurt in the explosion. If such an assumption is correct, investigators say it would explain the lack of a warning call to authorities.
Inspections of the bomb site indicate the brunt of the explosion was likely absorbed by a nearby car but the Hellenic building did suffer some minor damage in the blast.
A group known as the Revolutionary Liberation Action has claimed responsibility for a firebomb attack Wednesday in Athens, Katherimini said. The attack on the office of Parliament Member Kyriakos Mitsotakis caused minor damage but resulted in no injuries.
