NEW DELHI, March 17 (UPI) -- India's foreign secretary Tuesday pledged cooperation with Pakistan in helping prosecute the alleged perpetrators of last fall's terrorist attack in Mumbai.

Shivshankar Menon told reporters in New Delhi that India had responded to a request for information from Pakistan as part of the investigation into the Mumbai terrorist ring based in Pakistan.

Menon said India expected the investigation to continue aggressively and that he was confident the probe would not be derailed by the most recent surge of civil unrest in Pakistan, Press Trust of India reported.

"We will continue down that road with whoever is willing to help us to achieve our goal," Menon said.
