PERUGIA, Italy, March 13 (UPI) -- Surveillance camera images introduced in an Italian court Friday are the last known images of slain British student Meredith Kercher, a police officer says.
Police officer Mauro Barbadori told the court the grainy images introduced in a Perugia court appear to show Kercher shortly before she was killed, allegedly by U.S. student Amanda Knox and her Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, The Times of London said.
Knox and Sollecito are facing murder charges for allegedly sexually assaulting then killing Kercher, 21, in November 2007 in a cottage the women shared.
A third suspect, Ivory Coast immigrant Rudy Guede, has been convicted and sentenced to 30 years in prison in relation to the student's death.
Meanwhile, Knox's stepfather Chris Mellas said he tells his stepdaughter that prosecutors in her case haven't introduced any significant evidence to date.
"I sit down and tell her that is not going so bad, that the prosecution haven't really brought anything up in court yet," he said to The Times.
