WASHINGTON, March 12 (UPI) -- FBI officials Thursday raided the offices of Washington, D.C.'s chief technology officer, whose director recently accepted a post in the Obama administration.

There was no indication the raid targeted outgoing chief technology officer Vivek Kundra, appointed last week as the chief information officer by President Barack Obama, CNN reported.

His last day at the city government office was Feb. 4, a spokeswoman for Mayor Adrian Fenty said.

The search is part of "an ongoing investigation," a spokeswoman of the FBI's field office told Politico.

Agents arrested Yusuf Acar, an information systems security official, The Washington Post reported.

A White House spokesman had no immediate comment.

Mayor's office spokeswoman Leslie Kershaw said the office was alerted about the FBI's raid on the CTO office, "but we cannot comment until it's over and we get more details."

"We know the FBI is over there but that's all we know," Mario Field, a CTO staffer who was working at a different location, told the Washington publication.

Another person familiar with the raid said the FBI sent home all staffers except senior executives.
