Canada body-parts murder victim identified
HARARE, Zimbabwe, March 11 (UPI) -- Zimbabwe's Supreme Court has ordered the release from prison of an opposition politician who was to serve as deputy agriculture minister.
Roy Bennett, a 52-year-old credit of President Robert Mugabe, was arrested last month on charges of possessing weapons for sabotage, banditry, terrorism.
Bennett is a member of the Movement for Democratic Change. The party did not indicate when Bennett is expected to be released, CNN reported Wednesday.
CNN reported that government officials want Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, leader of the MDC, to put his property up for collateral if Bennett flees.
