MOSCOW, March 11 (UPI) -- Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Tuesday he has a long list of topics to discuss with U.S. President Barack Obama when they meet next month.
The two leaders are to meet for the first time at the G20 meeting in London, RIA Novosti reported. Medvedev said likely subjects for discussion include arms control, anti-terrorism work and the economic crisis, the Russian news agency said.
"The signals I have been receiving from the United States, from President Barack Obama, are quite positive," Medvedev said.
"We have a broad agenda, and too much depends on how Russia-U.S. relations develop."
Relations between the United States and Russia were strained by the Bush administration's plan to install components of a missile defense shield in Poland and the Czech Republic, and by the Russian invasion of Georgia in response to Georgian moves to bring a breakaway region under control. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met this month in Geneva, Switzerland.
