MIAMI GARDENS, Fla., March 8 (UPI) -- An argument between two groups inside a south Florida nightclub escalated into gun play outside that left five people wounded, police said.
The shootings took place Saturday night before midnight along a busy thoroughfare several blocks away from the Miami Gardens nightclub where the dispute started, The Miami Herald reported Sunday.
The victims, including a juvenile, were expected to live, Miami Gardens police Capt. Ralph Suarez said.
No arrests had been made.
"We heard five to 10 loud rounds," Roshonda Exantus, 28, a nearby resident, told the Herald. "It sounded like the rounds came from a high-powered gun. I ran to get my baby and hide, because we weren't totally sure where the shots were coming from."
The newspaper noted it was the third mass shooting in Miami-Dade in three months. Four people were wounded at a North Miami apartment complex in February, and a shooting during a craps game in Liberty City left two dead and seven wounded in January.
