LONDON, March 6 (UPI) -- Internal militants pose a "mortal threat" for Pakistan in a "very grave situation" that's getting worse, a top British diplomat says.

British Foreign Secretary David Miliband called for unity among politicians, the lack of which "at the moment is only contributing to the problem," the BBC reported Friday.

Miliband spoke to the BBC as Pakistan continued to investigate this week's attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore.

Pakistani police have released sketches of four of the 14 gunmen suspected in the ambush that left six policemen and a driver dead.
