INDIANAPOLIS, March 4 (UPI) -- A school bus driver in Marion County, Ind., made two runs, transporting a total of 104 students, while intoxicated, police allege.

Police say they have arrested Phillip K. Leslie and charged the 47-year-old bus driver with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, public intoxication and child neglect following the Tuesday incident, The Indianapolis Star reported Wednesday.

Sgt. Paul Thompson, an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman, said students on Leslie's bus informed their parents they suspected the driver was intoxicated, leading to complaints to the school district's transportation center.

According to parent complaints, Leslie allegedly had been weaving into other lanes and hit a mailbox while dropping children off at their homes.

A breath test on Leslie allegedly found he had 0.22 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath, well above the state's legal limit of 0.08.

The Star said a Franklin Township Schools spokesman had already confirmed the school district plans to fire Leslie for the alleged incident.
