Elderly widow accuses casino of fraud

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., March 3 (UPI) -- A 78-year-old New Jersey widow says she'll go to court to try to force Harrah's casino to fork over an $86,000 jackpot she says she won.

Angela Domino says she'll present as evidence the non-binding decision of an independent arbitration panel that last month concluded she deserved the entire $86,000 jackpot plus interest, the Press of Atlantic City, N.J., reported Tuesday.

On May 3, 2007, Domino, of Galloway Township, N.J., bet $2.25 on a Harrah's progressive slot machine that flashed she was the winner of $86,000.

Casino officials, however, told her she actually won only $20,000 because another gambler had won the $86,000 jackpot three minutes earlier while playing another machine linked to the same system of progressive slot machines. When a jackpot is won, the meter is supposed to reset to the minimum prize of $20,000, said Harrah's officials.

Domino claims she was a victim of fraud while Harrah's said it does not comment on pending litigation.
