WARSAW, Poland, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Adam Szejnfeld, the deputy economic minister of Poland, says the government must conduct a steady policy despite ongoing economic problems.

Poland Radio said Friday while Szejnfeld recognized the impact of the ongoing economic woes would likely be felt for years to come, the economic official said any government response must be carefully approached.

"If there appear any circumstances demanding the change of budget, they should be considered but the decision can be taken only after it is certain that there are no other solutions," Szejnfeld said.

Meanwhile, Polish President Lech Kaczynski said Poland's adoption of the euro wouldn't alleviate the country's economic problems.

"Since the common currency could not protect the strongest economies of the EU, like the German economy, there are no reasons to expect that the adoption of the euro will be a cure to Poland's economic situation," Kaczynski said, referring to the European Union.
