TORONTO, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Canadians who have mobile phone service with Bell Mobility can now access the popular social networking site Twitter.

Bell Mobility has become the first wireless carrier in Canada to offer full SMS, short message service or text message, support for Twitter, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reports.

Bell Mobility plans to charge users 15 cents for each Twitter message they send or receive, even if they have purchased an unlimited text messaging plan.

"Because Twitter is a third-party service, the messages are considered premium and not covered by our plans," company spokeswoman Julie Smithers to the CBC.

Last November Twitter stopped allowing Canadian users to receive updates from other users via SMS while users in the United States were able to receive the updates.

Twitter is the third-most-popular social networking site on the Web after Facebook and MySpace.
