WEWOKA, Okla., Feb. 22 (UPI) -- A teenage Oklahoma girl claims she woke up in the home of Seminole County's sheriff after drinking a soda he gave her in a restaurant.
The unidentified 17-year-old girl, who worked for Sheriff Joe Craig answering phones at the jail in Wewoka, said a pornographic movie was playing on Craig's television when she regained consciousness on the floor of his rural trailer home, The Oklahoman reported Sunday.
The newspaper said the girl accuses Craig of pushing her down and making her pass out again, only to wake up later in the bathroom of her home being tended to by her mother, a campaign worker for the sheriff.
Craig pleaded guilty to misdemeanor alcohol charges related to his interactions with the girl and paid a $1,000 fine. Seminole County Prosecutor Charles Migliorino said the investigation also involved sexual allegations, but based on a report from the Oklahoma State Police and conversations with the girl's mother, he decided to file only alcohol charges, The Oklahoman said.
Craig refused to comment on the girl's allegations, but has denied them to sheriff's department colleagues, a former undersheriff said.
