MOSCOW, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and U.S. President Barack Obama will likely meet in London at the a G20 summit in April, an official said Saturday.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that although Medvedev and Obama have not yet met face-to-face, the two leaders have talked by telephone twice, ITAR-TASS reported.

"Both parties confirmed their position in favor of normalizing relations. And as President Obama said, resetting them. President Medvedev also emphasized the intention to 'start everything anew,'" Lavrov said.

For his part, the foreign minister said he has spoken with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

"We are practically negotiating the date of our first meeting where we will have an opportunity not only to exchange views on where we stand but also on how we will implement the two presidents' commitment to moving further and resetting our relations on a constructive, equal and pragmatic basis," Lavrov said. "This will give us a chance, among other things, to prepare the first meeting of the presidents."
