NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Chief Kenya mediator Kofi Annan says he may push for trials for suspected ringleaders in the post-election outbreak of violence.
Some 1,500 people were killed after political and ethnic rivalries caused clashes around the country following the disputed December 2007 elections.
Annan is considering sending a list of suspects to the International Criminal Court for further action, BBC reported.
Parliament ruled out a special court to handle the matter.
The commission of inquiry sent a sealed list of suspects to Annan, the former U.N. secretary-general, and urged action by March 1.
