LONDON, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Twitter says the popular new Dalai Lama feed was back online Tuesday after being suspended because it wasn't really connected to the Tibetan spiritual leader.
Britain's The Daily Telegraph said Tuesday that the feed, which signed up nearly 20,000 users since its debut Saturday, was quickly shut down after Twitter determined the authors weren't affiliated with the Dalai Lama.
"The account was suspended because it violated our Terms of Use regarding impersonation," Twitter co-founder Biz Stone told the newspaper.
The feed was back online Tuesday but with a caveat stating it wasn't officially affiliated with the Dalai Lama.
The feed had earlier stated that the 73-year-old Dalai Lama wanted to connect with a youthful and tech-savvy audience.
