WASHINGTON, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- A Louisiana man claiming he had a delivery for President Barack Obama was arrested at the U.S. Capitol Tuesday after he was found to have a rifle, police said.
Sgt. Kimberly Schneider of the Capitol Police said the man, identified as Alfred Brock, 64, of Winnfield, La., had a rifle and ammunition in his truck when he drove up to a barricade, CNN reported. Brock was charged with possession of an unregistered rifle and ammunition.
Brock was questioned after he said he had a delivery for the president, Schneider said, and acknowledged having the rifle.
Obama received the earliest Secret Service protection of any presidential campaign since candidates began getting agents assigned following the assassination of Robert Kennedy in 1968. Four people were arrested for threatening Obama during the campaign, three during the Democratic Convention in Denver and one in Florida.
