More assets frozen in suicide-faking case

INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- A judge in Indiana froze the assets Thursday of Michelle Schrenker, whose husband, under investigation for securities fraud, allegedly faked a plane crash.

Hamilton County Judge J. Richard Campbell had already acted to freeze Marcus Schrenker's assets, The Indianapolis Star reported. He appointed a receiver for anything owned by Michelle Schrenker.

Marcus Schrenker was arrested in Florida last month. Investigators say he sent a distress call from his small plane before making a parachute jump and letting the plane crash.

In Indiana, Marcus Schrenker is charged with continuing to work as a securities broker after his registration lapsed. But investigators have heard from investors who say he misused their money.

Michelle Schrenker, after a court hearing on her divorce petition, denied having an active part in her husband's business.

"I have done nothing wrong," she told WTHR, weeping. "The only thing my husband did was give me a glorified title in that company."
