Lawyer: Casey Anthony like 'The Fugitive'

NEW YORK, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- A lawyer for the Florida woman accused of killing her 3-year-old daughter compared her to "The Fugitive," Dr. Richard Kimble, during a TV interview Friday.

Appearing on the NBC "Today Show," Linda Kenney Baden said she believes Casey Anthony, 22, is innocent, although she acknowledged that appearances are against her. The skeletal remains of Caylee Anthony were discovered in December in a wooded area near her grandparents' home in Orlando.

Kimble, played by David Janssen in the 1960s TV show and Harrison Ford in a 1993 movie, was on the lam after being wrongly convicted of his wife's murder. While Kimble said his wife had been killed by a one-armed man, Anthony told police when her daughter was reported missing in July that she had left her with a babysitter, never found by police, a month earlier.

"The person who seemed to be so guilty that the locals have made this person so guilty," Baden said. "He was so hated and he ran from the law and it turns out he was innocent. In this case, we believe our client is innocent."
