SAN ANGELO, Texas, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- A teenager allegedly married to polygamist leader Warren Jeffs got messages instructing her on how to behave after she became a ward of Texas, officials say.

A report by the 14-year-old's guardian said that the girl got text messages on a cell phone she secretly acquired, the San Angelo Standard-Times reported. She was told, while in foster care, to "please stay angry" and to "keep crying, pout, sleep in."

Texas Child Protection Service officials say that the girl was married to Jeffs when she was 12. The alleged evidence includes photographs of Jeffs kissing her after the 2006 ceremony at the YFZ Ranch, a compound in Texas owned by the Fundamentalist Church of the Latter-Day Saints, a break-away Mormon sect.

The girl was among the more than 400 children seized from the ranch in April last year. She was later returned there and then removed again in August, based on evidence including the photographs.

The guardian has asked Judge Barbara Walther to bar the girl's mother from communicating with her or visiting her, alleging that it was the mother who sent the text messages.
