PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- A lawsuit claims a Pittsfield, Mass., toddler faces a lifetime of potentially threatening illnesses because he choked on a used condom in a hotel room.
The incident allegedly occurred Jan. 3 in Room 142 of the Homewood Suites in Mount Laurel, Pa., where Steven and Amy Wolfe and their three children spent the night while returning home from a trip to Florida, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Sunday.
Amy Wolfe heard her 22-month-old son choking and pulled a used condom from his throat that had been left in their room before they checked in, allege documents filed in a lawsuit last week by the couple in federal court in New Jersey.
The boy had "ingested the contents," putting him at risk of contracting a "potentially life threatening, potentially fatal illness," said the lawsuit against Homewood Suites and its subsidiaries, Hilton and Blackstone.
Executives at Homewood Suites were not immediately available for comment, the Inquirer said.
