NEW DELHI, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was discharged from a hospital Sunday, after undergoing heart surgery last week, officials said.

CNN reported Singh, 76, left New Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences Sunday morning.

The Indian leader underwent a coronary bypass surgery Jan. 24. He also had a bypass in 1990 and an angioplasty in 2004, the news network noted.

Doctors said Singh will be able to resume most of his duties in about a month. Until then, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee is in charge of Singh's Finance Ministry portfolio.
